Shortly before the Stark Hyperspace War, a conflict between the Stark Commercial Combine and the Galactic Republic, the Selkath accused the Trade Federation shipping cartel of illegally mining kolto from Manaan's ocean floor. The Jedi Order, a monastic peacekeeping organization aligned with the Republic, sent Jedi Master Jard Dooku and Jedi Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi to investigate the matter, although they were unable to find any evidence supporting the claims.
