  • In 2259, in the alternate reality, Khan Noonien Singh used a portable transwarp beaming device to flee from his attack on Starfleet Headquarters in San Francisco with a long-range site-to-site transport all the way from the stolen jumpship 208 on Earth to Ketha Province on Qo'noS in block 27. (Star Trek Into Darkness, display graphic) Omega Leonis is a real star in the constellation Leo, located 112 light years away from Earth. According to Star Trek: Star Charts (p.16), a sector block is a roughly cubical area of space 100 light years wide/long and 80 light years high. Each block contains 100 sectors. The designation "block 27" was seen as part of the transporter destination coordinates on the portable transwarp beaming device display graphic. The alternate designation "Omega Leonis sector block" was seen in the targeted comm burst display graphic on the main viewscreen of the USS Enterprise. [1] The designation "Omega Leonis sector block" may have been borrowed from Star Trek Online, where until a 2015 redesign of the game's overworld it was the home sector block of the Klingon Empire, including Qo'noS.
