| - The Witchwood Halfling was much like their Rhodani brothers, they lived in small clans in secluded areas where they honed their skills to perfection. They tended to live in the deadwood forests; those same forests also tend to be inhabited by many types of undead kind. Over the years, the Witchwood Halflings acquired the ability to confront and defeated undead with relative ease and frequency. Though they lived in forbidding places, these halflings were fun loving and well spirited, often playing tricks and jokes on the few visitors they had. Though these tricks were always harmless, they gained a reputation for being foolish and less than serious about anything. The Witchwood clans did however have a serious side and made good merchants and tradesmen. They were fine craftsman with glass and clay, making excellent china and pottery. They also farmed and tended herd animals in their small forest villages; many of their stock were traded for weapons to help protect themselves from undead. These halflings sometimes hired out their services as undead stalkers, for payment they would seek out undead and slay them. This type of lifestyle caused the evolution of some natural abilities in the breed that were quite amazing. They developed a knack for avoiding the effect of energy drain attacks and seemed especially resistant to magical attacks that cause premature aging. This halfling was far stouter than most, sometimes being mistakes for a dwarf. They had thick arms and legs and were commonly very athletic. Being thick of chest was considered a virtue and many of the halflings lifted heavy logs to build up their chests. The old saying 'Tough as a Witchwood's Knuckle' was very true for most of the clan. Maybe because they were so often confronted by undead, the Witchwood people were very religious. They Religious Sects were very militant, often sending an army of Priests out to right some wrong. For such a small people, they made good Warrior Priests. They were very much in tune with their deities, most commonly worshiping Sorn, Basenbe, and Veldex. It was known that the Witchwood clans had an uneasy truce with the Lich known as Wesmoon. They were unable to overcome the Lich but could hold their own when the Lich tried to overtake them. The Lich built a new and magical tower within the bounds of Witchwood and had an ever-growing army. The Halflings feared that the Lich made a pact with the God Hellacaster, the ghastly Lord of Death.
