The Battle of Camperdown was a major naval battle between the British and the Dutch occurring on 11 October 1797. Admiral Adam Duncan commanded the British while Vice Admiral Jan de Winter commanded the Dutch. It was a clear victory for the British having taken eleven Dutch ships without losing one of its own.
