Gaffney is the county seat of Cherokee County, South Carolina. Sometimes referred to as the "Peach Capital of South Carolina," it is featured in the Chapter Three of the First Season of the House of Cards television series. Scenes of the town were actually filmed in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Located upstate, Gaffney's population was 12,414 according to the 2010 United States Census. Most of the more recent population growth has occurred outside of the city limits.
