Saurosuchus ('lizard crocodile') is an extinct genus of archosaur reptile belonging to the rauisuchian order. With a length of 7 m (23 ft), it was the largest member of the group, except perhaps for the less well known Fasolasuchus. Like other rauisuchians, Saurosuchus walked on four fully erect limbs. It probably was able to rear on its hind legs for a short time. It probably attacked prey from an ambush. Some think it may have been large enough to prey on dinosaurs as large as the carnivorous Herrerasaurus and the smaller Eoraptor. It lived in the Late Triassic of Argentina.
