  • Jane was Sheldon Sampson's girlfriend before he gained his superhuman powers, but broke off their relationship when he began having visions of the "Island." Sometime later, after he had gained his superhuman powers, he returned to her and once again pursued her romantically, stating that she was the only woman he would ever love. Eventually the two married, but never managed to have children together. Also during the years of her marriage, she became very good friends with Grace Kennedy. As the years wore on, Jane became increasingly frustrated with her perfect marriage. She began to long for a man with faults and bad habits in order to feel like a normal woman. Eventually she asked Sheldon for a divorce and moved away from him.
