Electronic Counter Measures (sometimes with the 2nd and 3rd word together as one) are a part of electronic Warfare designed to deceive the enemy Radar, sonar or IRST, aircraft AESA radars for example the APG-77 of the F-22 and the APG-81 of the F-35 are also capable to use electronic countermeasures. Two well-known effects on radar are adding false radar signatures, and removing real ones.
