I will never for the life of me understand why people bought yoblazer's podcast rant and favored Sunshine to not only win this match, but win THREE matches this contest. I mean I know why given the guy's gotten second place three times or something, but this was still strange. The case was decent enough, with the site hating Halo and Sunshine being the first Nintendo entrant people could vote on. All good points. One problem, though: Super Mario Sunshine f***ing sucked as a game. GameFAQs agrees, too. Seriously, look at these polls:

Thankfully the whole affair slash hype train ended within 10 minutes, as Halo weathered the early joke votes and went on the embarrass Mario for 12 straight hours. For a series that's been embarrassed year in, year out since 2004, it was nice finally seeing Halo have a good contest and it all began right here. Sure the match was close in percents, but this was one of the only matches ever where the loser scored over 47% and still looked like complete crap. I know most of us had a bad contest with picking stuff, but... Sunshine winning three matches was the guru favorite, seriously? I'm sure there's some silver lining here with Sunshine being so bad and still getting so close, but it didn't deserve nearly the hype it got.
