When joining the Genesis, he went through several genetic enhancements to better his immune system, thereby completing his personal goal at the cost of being exiled from his people. The Genesis became an infamous pirate group amongst several other slaver groups due to there inconsistent attacks on the borders guarded by the turian hierarchy. In response to the attacks, the Council sent the Turian Hierarchy's 26th Armiger Legion. With the hired Legion attacking their base of operations along with the groups forces being decimated, the surviving members either surrendered or escaped. Zel managed to evade capture after commendering a shuttle that belonged to the invading forces.
