Between 2001 and 2002, Frankel edited the scripts for the Robots in Disguise cartoon series to include references to characters and events from earlier Transformers series, after the scripts had been submitted to Hasbro for broadcast approval. He was also credited as a creative consultant for the Armada and Energon cartoons.
