Saint Eve is the church of the Citadel of Magdalena, a world-spanning religious order in Random Kingdom VX and its only trans-regional power. He and the four Elders are aware that the physical world is about to fall into a dark age. While keeping this a secret from the general population and the lower clergy, he dispatches the Elders with the task of becoming Jailers, creatures that somehow bind up a certain positive aspect of human nature in themselves, thus removing it from the nature of all humans in the world. The virtues mentioned are Justice, Hope, Prudence and Love. These assignments are covered up as generic missions to investigate supernatural occurences, which the church does regularly on bequest of local rulers or its local clergy.
