Due to its location (closest to the planet of the three habitable moons) and its largely unarable soil, Vedros IV's primary economic activity was harvesting the naturally occurring tibanna gas on Vedros itself. Most of its foodstuffs were imported from nearby Vedros VI. The Synnott pirate and Nightside Raiders Captain-General Kilwyo Kesh was stabbed to death by Renamo Kemset in the Miner's Daughter bar on Vedros IV. Kemset entered local legend as "the man who killed Kilwyo Kesh".

Due to its location (closest to the planet of the three habitable moons) and its largely unarable soil, Vedros IV's primary economic activity was harvesting the naturally occurring tibanna gas on Vedros itself. Most of its foodstuffs were imported from nearby Vedros VI. The Synnott pirate and Nightside Raiders Captain-General Kilwyo Kesh was stabbed to death by Renamo Kemset in the Miner's Daughter bar on Vedros IV. Kemset entered local legend as "the man who killed Kilwyo Kesh". In 112 ABY, Vedros IV and VI entered into a dispute regarding the mining profits from Vedros IV's operation. Vedros VI, which supplied Vedros IV with most of its food, argued that it deserved a cut of IV's profits. IV, in turn, argued that VI was paid fairly for its foodstuff imports, and IV deserved to keep all its profits, as it was doing all the work. The Consuls of the two systems were unable to agree, leading Queen Rin Sakaros to personally arbitrate the dispute and confirm that Vedros IV owed Vedros VI a cut of its profits, though less than VI had wanted. IV accepted the compromise with only sporadic complaints. VI, however, continued to demand higher profits, and its refusal to obey the Royal edict led Rin to use the Force to briefly slow VI's rotation almost to the point of stopping.
