Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Truss[2] PC MP (born 26 July 1975) is a British Conservative Party politician who was appointed Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor in 2016. She is the first female Lord Chancellor in the thousand-year history of the role (if not counting Eleanor of Provence in 1253[3]).
