  • The Midway Incident was the first event of Ace Combat: Joint Assault that caused the start of the Valahia Crisis. It is also the first mission that Antares Squadron participates as part of Martinez Security, a private military company. Antares was part of a joint military show with the elite Rigel Squadron, Japan Self-Defense Forces and the United States Navy Seventh Fleet. Antares was tasked to destroy several UAVs as part of the training. Unexpectedly, Valahia fighter squadrons and three B-52H Stratofortress bombers appeared in the airspace. Some of the fighters attacked the SDF, M42 Squadron and the Seventh Fleet. After all targets were destroyed, a message came in from the Seventh Fleet. The message said: "The bandits are headed towards Japan. They're planning on hitting Tokyo"- Burford, reading the message from the fleet. The enemy bombers and fighters were not engaging the allied forces, they were part of a group that attacked Tokyo. (Attack on Tokyo)
