The 1983 Paradise Bowl was the national championship game for the 1982-83 NCAA Division I college football season, pitting the undefeated and No. 1 Cuba Spaniards against the No. 2 San Diego Tritons. In a blowout, the Spaniards, led by Bosch-winning quarterback Rick Roma, scored thirty-one unanswered points in the first half to win the game by a lopsided 41-13. The game handed the Spaniards their first (and to date only) national championship as the reward for their first undefeated regular season in history.
