Gighun was a general in the Hynerian Army. Gighun was promoted sometime after Dominar Rygel XVI was overthrown by his cousin. When Rygel was contacted by his ex-wife Mmyna, she made the claim that Gighun was one of three generals still loyal to their previous monarch and had assembled an army to help overthrow Rygel's cousin, Dominar Bishan. This turned out to be a deception, however, as Gighun joined his fellow Hynerians in betraying Rygel and capturing him along with his companions Chiana and Ka Jothee. Gighun was killed in the attempt and later honored by Bishan in a speech.
