Deliberative Democracy, also known as Discursive Democracy, is a form of Democracy that lies between Direct Democracy and Representation. Unlike either of these systems where voting is used to determine a majority decision, deliberative democracies assert that it is necessary for the People to deliberate on the matter, study the facts carefully and decide on the best course of action as a collective entity. In most instances, an Administrative body would then execute the decision of the People. Largely regarded as a form of Populism, deliberative democracy is advocated by grass-roots political movements and is often a major part of micronational democracies.
