The Alsakan Crisis was a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Alsakan Union in 13,000 BBY. The conflict was the result of numerous other engagements between the two governments in the previous centuries. The Alsakan Union believed that it was their duty to take over Coruscant and re-create the capital of the Republic on Alsakan while Coruscant was terraformed into more natural habitat rather than the city-world that it had become. This belief stemmed from their religious doctrines that taught nature over technology, and this had caused a great deal of hostility between the two societies starting just after the formation of the Galactic Republic.

| - The Alsakan Crisis was a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Alsakan Union in 13,000 BBY. The beginning of the conflict was not seen until Corucant was invaded and captured by the Alsakans. Supreme Chancellor Relana Isolde Tanoor had the Galactic Senate evacuated and moved to Ord Mirit for their safety. The Republic quickly began planning a counter-attack, though Tanoor was convinced by Banik Kelrada, the leader of the Jedi Order, to hold off an attack so he could attempt to negotiate a peaceful outcome. While Kelrada was meeting with the Alsakan Vicar Lharra on Ossus, he was able to convince her to consider ending the war. She was killed shortly before leaving Ossus, and the Jedi claimed to have no knowledge of the assassination despite the fact that the Alsakans who were with her, who later killed themselves while ramming their ship into the Jedi Enclave which killed thirty-one Jedi, claimed that the Jedi had been responsible.
