The EX3700 has a basswood body with a flame maple top and cream binding bolted to a one-piece maple neck with a bound maple fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include Ibanez pickups with humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions flanking a single coil, a double locking tremolo bridge and a locking nut. The humbuckers are mounted with pickup rings. The EX3700 has gold-tone hardware. 1992 EX3700s have a 22-fret fingerboard, while 1993 versions have 24 frets. The EX370FM is a similar model with a rosewood fretboard and without the binding.
