Continuity of Government is a government/military strategy for maintaining governmental authority over the nation following a devastating incident. Continuity of Government was first established in the United Kingdom during the Second World War. Since then and throughout the Cold War, several nations including the United States and later the Union of Everett established strategies for the survival of government.
