The Global Alliance for Peace and Propserity, or GAPP, is an intra-governmental organisation advocating peace and prosperity for people, instead of war and material gain. The organisation was founded in 1959, by founding countries Wessex, Ireland, Sweden and Switzerland largely as an opposition to NATO with the Treaty of Bern, however it grew to become an organisation of its own, with other nations including Japan, Bhutan and Finland later joining among others. Member states are fully autonomous, with the alliance serving as a advocacy group and a way to bring people and nations together for a common cause.
