Government Cheese were a rock group from Bowling Green, Kentucky that formed in 1985. After the band's breakup Tommy Womack went on to play in the Bis-quits and Daddy as well as to record five solo albums. Billy Mack Hill went on to play in Moral Chain of Custody. In 1997, Tommy Womack published Cheese Chronicles: The True Story of a Rock ‘n’ Roll Band You’ve Never Heard Of which details the often unglamorous lifestyle of Government Cheese, portrayed as a hard-working rock band trying to make a name for themselves.[1]
