Rhodar was the King of Drasnia. He was the uncle of Prince Kheldar and the husband of Porenn. Rhodar gave the appearance of being a decadent man. He was morbidly fat (weighing as much as three men and eating all the time, including 3 breakfasts) and apparently doted on his young wife Porenn. In reality he was a shrewd king and a genius with military tactics. Zakath commented that he had failed to suspect Rhodar of political genius, viewing him as a old man doting over his young wife.

Eventually his obesity cost him his health and he died, leaving his throne to his young son Kheva, and leaving his wife Porenn to act as Queen Regent.
