Achien Island was territory of The Republic Of America, although not officially part of any states/provinces. Because of this, they were not represented in elections, the creation of laws, or politics in general. The island went a year without being granted these rights, and eventually decided to separate from The Republic Of America. The people of the island made an agreement with President Hayden and were relieved from the ROA. Leaving them to form their own government and create the Island Nation of Achien. Despite the separation, the ROA, and Achien Island are still close allies, and have made a peace/non-aggressive pact.
