  • The fighting for Isabella begins as soon as they exit their houses. Phineas and Buford both leave their houses with flowers for Isabella. Seeing each others gifts, they try to outdo each other with bigger and better gifts. Phineas finally throws a weight on Buford’s head to get rid of him. When Phineas arrives at Isabella’s home, he finds a note on her door saying she'll be back shortly. Phineas sees Buford coming and disguised as Isabella. He lures Buford over to the porch swing and starts flirting with him. When Buford isn’t looking, Phineas hits him over the head, puts a mouse trap down, and gives him an explosive sandwich. In addition to tricking Buford on the swing, Phineas pretends to kiss Buford by using a plunger and hitting him on the head. He continues tricking Buford by painting a bomb to look like Isabella. Buford is so excited by explosion of the bomb, he runs into the house. Once again, Phineas tries to trick Buford by pretending to be Mr. Daniel Cupid and shooting him with an arrow. Buford figures out it's Phineas ("You're that screwey boy!" he shouts, clearly not realizing this description applies just as well to himself) and begins chasing him. Fortunately for Phineas, he sees Isabella and runs around the side of the house. Buford sees Isabella coming up the porch and thinks it's again Phineas disguised as her. When Isabella enters the house, Buford hits her upside the head with a vase. Isabella proceeds to beat up Buford and kick him out of her home. The cartoon ends with Phineas showering Isabella with compliments and kissing Isabella after she has eaten an explosive sandwich. Both Isabella and Phineas think the explosive effect the sandwich lends to the kiss is due to the other's romantic capabilities ("What a boy!"/ "What a girl!"), and they enthusiastically kiss again.
