abstract
  • The ODIN-class Defense Station was first designed and produced by the Mikaru Corporation in underground foundries on Eshan, and launched into orbit after the world was liberated. Their name ODIN was an acronym Orbital Defense Interception Network, called such in the reasoning that while each had its own computer core they were all normally controlled by a planet based computer via a secured protected communications signal. The ODIN's primary purpose was in its name, Interception. It was equipped with 30 missile tubes situated in 6 different racks, two twelve count, two eight count, and two five count racks. Each tube had 100 individual heavy concussion missiles, each capable of intercepting other missiles, starfighters, or bombarding capital ships within range. The primary Anti-Capital weapon of the ODIN station was a dual barreled 146cm Linear-Induction cannon that could launch an unguided Thermonuclear warhead similar to a proton torpedo, but of greater yield at an upper limit of 60% the speed of light. These slugs were designed to impact against particle shields, push past them (as most were not designed to repel such high velocity impacts) breach the hull of the ship, and detonate. From their initial launch till Yuuzhan Vong War Eshan launched at least 200 ODIN's into orbit, a timely ordeal, but come the war, it defended the planet form attack. The Mikaru Corporation, circa the end of 4ABY began selling the units to other groups.
