Fenn often used the vessel as a ship to smuggle goods, often spice or illegally sliced weaponry for the Desilijic Cartel. The freighter started off as a stock YT-1300F light freighter. Fenn purchased the freighter from Corellian Enterprises around 20 BBY, and modified the spacecraft many times over its long functioning career.
