The First Provisional Republic of Dorvik (Dorvische: Erste Provisorischen Republik Dorvik) was a provisional government founded in the wake of mass unrest with the Dorvish monarchy and the King of Dorvik Sigimund III who many felt was responsible for the governments failure and eventual economic recession that struck Dorvik in the early 1990s. While formally it was known as the First Provisional Republic of Dorvik it is better known as the First Dorvish Republic (Dorvische: Dorvische Republik) since only a few documents have the formal title on them.

While formally it was known as the First Provisional Republic of Dorvik it is better known as the First Dorvish Republic (Dorvische: Dorvische Republik) since only a few documents have the formal title on them. The one year rule of the Dorvish Republic was characterized by mass unemployment, civil violence and a chaotic government struggling to hold on. Chancellor Felix Aue, who would eventually go on to be arrest for crimes against the state when the Free Republic of Dorvik was founded, acted as Chancellor for the entire Republic. Felix Aue was a member of the Dorvish Nationalist Party (Dorvische: Dorvische Nationalistischen Partei) one of the dozens of parties which sprung up in the wake of the collapse of the monarchy. The government of the First Provisional Republic of Dorvik was technically a constitutional monarchy yet much of the monarchist trappings were forsaken as the civil violence got more brutal. The Council of Deputies (Dorvische: Rat der Abgeordneten) was an elected 300 member national legislature, in its first and only election the Dorvish Nationalist Party won a majority of 150 seats while several other parties claimed various amounts of seats. The Communist Party of Dorvik (Historical) was the second largest with 70 seats and forced itself into one of the Presidential roles of the Council's Presidium.
