Mutations: Occurences and Causes was a report compiled in 2189 by Dr. Synatschk of Luna Station. The paper attempted to explain the unusual number of mutations in Sol system colonies despite the gene-typing of parents. Statistics varied from station to station. Synatschk attributed these to a combination of alien conditions such as lower gravity, stress, and a lack of dietary trace minerals. The paper was well-researched and eloquent, and was accepted as the authoritative work on the subject of Space Syndrome for several decades. It was used by Lang Tanaka as a source.
