Evandar (formally Evandar Könungr) was the son of Queen Dellanir, king of the elven race for four hundred years, until he was slain during the Dragon War by either Galbatorix or one of the Forsworn. Once he died, Queen Islanzadí became the ruler and Queen of the elves in his stead. He was the mate of the Queen Islanzadí and the sire of Arya.

| - Evandar ist ein König der Elfen, Gefährte von Islanzadi und Vater von Arya. Evandar besteigt den Thron etwa 500 Jahre bevor Eragon zum ersten Mal nach Ellesméra kommt. Er regiert bis zu seinem Tod während der Zweiten Schlacht um Ilirea, in der Zeit des Falls der Drachenreiter, etwa 400 Jahre später. Vor ihm regiert Königin Dellanir. Nach seinem Tod besteigt Islanzadi den Thron. Als Evandar eines Tages während des Kampfes mit einem Urgal stolpert und zu unterliegen droht, kommt ihm ein Rabe zu Hilfe, hackt dem Urgal die Augen aus und rettet Evandar damit das Leben. Zum Dank belegt ihn dieser mit einem Zauber für Intelligenz und langes Leben und gibt ihm den Namen Blagden. Arya besitzt ein Fairith ihres Vaters, das sie in ihren Gemächern in der Tialdarí-Halle verwahrt.
