This function finds the first child of an object with the given name. It is useful when you want to get an object whose name is stored in a variable, like this: name = "MyBrick" p = game.Workspace:FindFirstChild(name) If an item with the name you gave couldn't be found, then the return value will be nil, this can be used for checking: if not Workspace:FindFirstChild("Terrain") then print("You're using an old version of roblox!") end
