| - Some time after the events of the first Sonic the Hedgehog video game, Sonic the Hedgehog visited Never Lake where the "Little Planet" appears once a year. The hedgehog is accompanied by new friend Amy Rose, but she is soon captured by a new Metal Sonic who takes her to the oddly-metallic Little Planet. It's down to Sonic to thwart Doctor Robotnik's new plan, fight off Metal Sonic, find the seven Time Stones and rescue Amy. A tall order for anyone other than Sonic the Hedgehog!

Hier hatten Amy Rose und Metal Sonic ihren ersten Auftritt. Das Spiel erschien auch 1996 für PC, im Jahr 2005 für den Nintendo Gamecube in der Sonic Gems Collection und im Jahr 2011 für PC (Remake), für Xbox 360 und für Playstation 3.

It marked the first official appearance of both Metal Sonic and Amy Rose. It was released for the Sega Mega-CD in Japan on 23 September 1993, in Europe in October 1993 and for the Sega CD in North America on 19 November 1993. The game was ported to PC CD-ROM in 1996.
- Sonic the Hedgehog CD ist ein qualitativ miserables Spiel für die SEGA CD Konsole, die James Rolfe in seinem Video SEGA CD vorstellt. Das Spiel ist so schlecht, da man weniger spielt und mehr Cutscenes anschauen muss. Es ist ein Adventure Game, wie jedes Spiel für SEGA CD.
- Released in 1993, Sonic CD was one of the better games that could be found on the Sega CD, an ambitious Sega Genesis add-on marred by its price tag and an over-saturation of "FMV games." Fortunately it saw a re-release on the PC three years later, then another in 2005's Sonic Gems Collection. Considered by many to be one of the best Sonic the Hedgehog platformers thanks to the time travel elements and complex level designs providing much replay value. This game introduced Amy Rose--Sonic's cute Stalker with a Crush--and fan favorite Metal Sonic. It also had an Anime opening and ending sequences with Sonic displaying his badassery; two of the few FMV's on the console to actually look good.
