Zajek was born on the planet of Zaadja at some point during the Clone Wars. His father served as a Major General in the Republic Cheka, the secret police of the Galactic Republic. Zajek grew up very loyal to the Republic. After three years of grueling training, Zajek graduated as a captain and was given his first posting aboard a Star Destroyer. His vessel was called into action during the Battle of Mygeeto, and flew his first combat mission there.

abstract	Zajek was born on the planet of Zaadja at some point during the Clone Wars. His father served as a Major General in the Republic Cheka, the secret police of the Galactic Republic. Zajek grew up very loyal to the Republic. His father was killed during the Battle of Coruscant when the Confederacy of Independent Systems landed ground forces near the Cheka headquarters. He wanted to join the Republic Navy to avenge him, but he Clone Wars ended around that time with Order 66 and the creation of the Galactic Empire. He enlisted in the Imperial Navy and was sent to the Carida Imperial Military Academy. After three years of grueling training, Zajek graduated as a captain and was given his first posting aboard a Star Destroyer. His vessel was called into action during the Battle of Mygeeto, and flew his first combat mission there. He was later stationed aboard the first Death Star. During the Battle of Yavin IV, he flew along with Black Eight Squadron, though unlike them, he managed to survive the battle. Later he was part of the task force that chased after the Millennium Falcon. He was then retrained as one of the few new Imperial T-47 Airspeeder Pilots that flew the atmospherical Imperial T-47 Airspeeder. As a result, he was given a posting at Cloud City. Later, shortly before the Battle of Endor, Zajek was given a position in the elite Imperial State Security Committee. After excelling most of the given tests, he was promoted to Colonel and served in the Fourth Directorate of State Security.
