Five days after the Hammer of Dawn counterattack, PA-Five-One was used on a scouting mission by Sgt. Fenix, Pvt. Dominic Santiago, Pvt. Tai Kaliso, and Pvt. Padrick Salton. Salton was the driver, and was forced to take a cross-country route because the roads were blocked by abandoned cars. They drove on a route to the city of Gerrenhalt for several hours, viewing the total lack of life on the way. A kilometer outside the city, they stopped and were unable to proceed any farther, since PA-Five-One could not make it over the debris. As Salton took a break to relieve himself, Dom and Marcus talked to Tai in the vehicle, attempting to reassure that his home was likely not hit. When Salton returned, he was shaken up after realizing he had been standing on bodies, and was unable to drive PA-Five
