Judge Maximus was a judge before whom Joseph Adama regularly appeared. He took Joseph aside and berated him because his most recent bribe had been paid before he had actually agreed to accept it. Joseph responded that he thought they had talked. He told Joseph to tell the Guatrau that his "fee" in this case would be doubled.
