About: Zero gravity analyzer   Sponge Permalink

An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : dbkwik.org associated with source dataset(s)

The Zero gravity analyzer (or ZGA) is a type of Terran scanner used to examine extremely hazardous materials. It is basically composed of two gravity plates, a vacuum chamber, and a small array of scanners. Any substance entering the chamber is subjected to an artificial gravitational field holding it perfectly in place. This minimizes the chances of substances such as Zerg acids from eating through the device (20th Century Fox: Alien).

In the time of its introduction, the ZGA has been used to develop defenses to counter act the various toxins, corrosive and explosive acids created by the zerg. It has also been used to examine salvaged alien technology leading to a few new innovations for both civilian and military applications.
