On July 12th, K Troop participated in Operation Shear under the leadership of Sergeant Brierley. They were originally a stationary unit awaiting for reinforcements under Lieutenant Childress but once he became KIA they became a mobile and tried to relieve the entrenched Lieutenant Stephen Cartwright. K Troop managed to successfully cross a heavily Chimeran defended bridge to relieve Lt. Cartwright and other Royal Marine Commandos who were surrounded by hostiles.
