Peter Onegin was an Insurrectionist operative who was fielded some time after the end of the Human-Covenant War. Peter was a clone of the renegade Spartan Simon-G294 who had joined the HLF during the Second Mamore Insurrection but had abandoned the cause during the fighting. The man who had recruited and mentored Simon, Redmond Venter, knew of his protege's origins and hoped to use the traitor's harvested DNA to create his own batch of rebel supersoldiers. Peter was one of twenty Simon clones grown for the first phase of the HLF's Knight project, and he was the only one in his batch to survive the experimental augmentations they were subsequently subjected to. Venter intended to use him to replace the subject called Nimue, who had fled the Insurrection after being trained by David Kahn.
