  • The Sombra Corporation is a megacorporation in alliance with North Central Positronics and LaMerk Industries, and in conflict with the Tet Corporation. Richard Sayre was at one time the CEO of the Corporation. Sombra is controlled by the Crimson King, rising to power in the late 1980s and fully monopolized high-tech research, development and manufacturing for an unknown length of time. It also owns the Trans Corporation, which finds and recruits young people with paranormal powers to carry out assassinations, and eventually to become Breakers. Dinky Earnshaw was recruited by TransCorp, but discovered the nature of the company and rebelled against Sombra. On Keystone Earth, the reign of Sombra Corporation was challenged by the Tet Corporation, which was founded by Roland Deschain and his ka-tet specifically for this purpose. Sombra's primary destructive act was the acquisition of the vacant lot in Manhattan which contained the Rose, the manifestation of the Dark Tower on Keystone Earth. The purpose of the purchase was to demolish the land and build condominiums, thus destroying the Rose and, perhaps in the process, weakening or destroying the Dark Tower, the lynchpin which held the multiverse together.

Sombra also set a trap for Father Callahan. They promised to give Callahan's homeless shelter a million dollars if they came to headquarters. Richard Sayre sprang the trap on Callahan and meant to use vampires to infect him with AIDS. Callahan decided to jump out the window rather than allow that to happen.
