The two worlds had been in conflict with one another prior to the mission. Ardosian forces kidnapped the princess of Ondos and held her hostage while demanding Ondos disband its militia. The mission to rescue the princess was successful, but Jedi Knight Jhon Cordatus inadvertently destroyed the facility she had been held in, killing hundreds of Ardosian civilians.

  • In 981 ABY, as a result of a joint Imperial and New Jedi Order mission to Ardos, a war broke out between Ardos and its neighboring world of Ondos. The two worlds had been in conflict with one another prior to the mission. Ardosian forces kidnapped the princess of Ondos and held her hostage while demanding Ondos disband its militia. The mission to rescue the princess was successful, but Jedi Knight Jhon Cordatus inadvertently destroyed the facility she had been held in, killing hundreds of Ardosian civilians. As a result of Cordatus' actions, Ardos declared war on Ondos, claiming it was a deliberate act of sabotage meant to murder Ardosian civilians. The war claimed the lives of many other civilians, as well as the princess of Ondos herself, who was killed when an Ardosian soldier slit her throat. The Empire ultimately intervened and ended the conflict.
