In Super Mario 64 DS, Luigi can take on the abilities the Vanish Cap grants, but instead he uses a Power Flower to do so.

By putting on this cap, Mario, as Vanish Mario, becomes transparent and can walk though metal bars and just about all enemies. In the DS version, when Luigi gets a power flower, he turns invisible in a similar fashion though there's no switch necessary. There's also few differences; Vanish Mario can walk through ice, but Vanish Luigi can't. Luigi can move horizontally and vertically, while Mario only moves horizontally.
