General elections took place in Peru on 10 April 2016. Incumbent President Ollanta Humala is ineligible to run due to constitutional term limits. In the race for the presidency, candidates Veronika Mendoza and Julio Guzman passed the electoral threshold for a second round, to be held on 5 June 2016. while Keiko Fujimori and Pedro Pablo Kuczynski was disqualified by JNE for alleged vote buying and leakage of Panama Papers[1]
