Upgrading increases the experience bonus. At rank 25, it also reduces character level requirement of the item it is socketed into to 1.

This gem was Season Two-exclusive, but once this season ended, it started to drop for normal characters as well. This gem increases experience gained through kills by fixed amount. Upgrading increases the experience bonus. At rank 25, it also reduces character level requirement of the item it is socketed into to 1. The experience bonus is multiplied by difficulty, and since it is fixed, it is especially useful when dealing with hordes of lesser enemies. At high ranks, Gem of Ease significantly boosts leveling, especially at lower levels (for comparison, level 1 monster grants 40 experience; level 55 grants 8700; level 60 grants 18700). Alternatively, a rank 25 gem or higher can be used in Kanai's Cube recipe to reduce level requirements of any item (not just weapon) to 1, although the gem is destroyed in process. These two methods are the only ways to use items of level 70 on low-level alts.
