About: Rules on Halaghification   Sponge Permalink

An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : dbkwik.org associated with source dataset(s)

So, some of you have been telling me that you are adverse to making Halaghi because of the gibberish words that come from their mouth holes. Reading the log, I realize that the Halaghispeak was set on 'overkill' and probably discouraged you all a bit more. While the Halaghi are supposed to have weird grammar, there is a line, and it would be rather silly (and tedious) to come up with gibberish words for everything. So, some quick guidelines. Use these in moderation, however, and ask yourself "is it entirely necessary that I call iron ore 'chunkerationerium'?" before you pose.

  • So, some of you have been telling me that you are adverse to making Halaghi because of the gibberish words that come from their mouth holes. The word can be Halaghified if it is three or more syllables. Even more so if it has something to do with technology or the destruction thereof (usually through explosion). You might also make some words shorter (example: 'bode' is a shortened version of 'abode'). Use these in moderation, however, and ask yourself "is it entirely necessary that I call iron ore 'chunkerationerium'?" before you pose. The Halaghi might also use gibberish words to describe unfamiliar Fastheldian technology (arrows, armor, swords). -ified, -icated, -erated are all acceptable suffixes of the past tense for describing physical change. (example: destroyified, frozicated).
