As a prisoner in Metropolis City High Security Prison, Grimer managed to hack into the Kintobor Computer and tricked him into thinking a Badnik army had stormed the sector. Sonic the Hedgehog arrived to find no disruption, but he soon had to contend with the Kintobor Badnik, his friendly advisor turned traitor. When even bringing the aforementioned dilapidated building down on top of it didn't work, Sonic took the battle back to the Emerald Hill Zone.
