  • The FTM33 features a completely new asymmetrical body, which was designed with input from Thordendal. It has the basic shape and balance of a Destroyer, but with the rounded edges and curves of a Firebrand, and a lower horn reminiscent of an Iceman. The control knobs are arranged in a layout identical to that of a Gibson Flying V (the later version, with the larger pickguard). The shape has been dubbed the Stoneman. It features a neck-through-body construction with ash wings attached to a 27" scale titanium-reinforced 7-piece maple and walnut neck, with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard devoid of inlays. Components include an FX Edge III-8 tremolo bridge and dual passive, ceramic Lundgren M8 humbucking pickups with individual volume controls. The first Stoneman prototype was made at Ibanez's Los Angeles Custom Shop (LACS) in 2012, and Thordendal has been shown with numerous different one-off custom LACS guitars since then. The most conspicuous appearance may be in the live recording of the 2014 Ophidian Trek show.
