I'm calling it a day - when you come back from the mud being down and immediately see comments like "Doyn logs on Nass when he wants to imp a new stupid idea" then this is not a place that I'm prepared to spend my free time anymore. I'm just choosing this as one example out of many, and I really don't feel like hanging around to hear stuff like this.

I'm just choosing this as one example out of many, and I really don't feel like hanging around to hear stuff like this. Some of you will undoubtably break out the champagne. All you've actually achieved is to drive away the most experienced imm around. Someone who has spent the last 7 or so years being a "giver" rather than a "taker" contributing to every department, and to such a fundamental level that most of you wouldn't even be here in the first place had it not been for my work for the mud over the years. The fact is, when you examine "being Nass", it involves a large voluntary sacrifice of time to make the mud better for the players (I run building, quests, the website, the forums, appeals, the dark side, a clan, the dark council, objects), for reward of a lot of pain by players (insults, accusations, slander, libel, ridicule, jibes) and no gain... and there's only so much of this any sane person has the patience or tolerance levels for.
