Herendil (S.A. 3299-3319) was a young Númenórean who lived in the kingdom of Númenór during the late-Second Age. He was the elder brother of Terendul. Highly loyal to the Valar and Elendil, Herendil pledged his loyalty to the Faithful to oppose the King's Men that chose to rebel against the Valar, and was also a good friend to Isildur Elendilion. He would also fall in love with Númeniel, one the daughters of Anárion, and would be killed in the terrible destruction of Numenor while his younger brother managed to survive and continue his lineage when he married Almáriel.
