About: Berival   Sponge Permalink

An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : dbkwik.org associated with source dataset(s)

Berival was a planet within the New Republic under special treaties that granted it only partial protection from the New Republic military and also allowed it a greater deal of freedom, with a low level of taxation and regulation. Berival was on the edge of Republic-controlled space, and in fact beyond the usual "edge" drawn on most flat star maps. In 26 ABY, Berival was captured by the Stellar Imperium and forced to sign a treaty that withdrew it from the New Republic and admitted it into the Stellar Imperium. This was often regarded as the first major event of the Stellar Imperial War. Berival was liberated in 29 ABY, three years later, along with several other planets when the Stellar Imperium lost the Battle of Angwel and the Berival-Bastion treaty was signed.
